Notting Hill Carnival 2007 J'ouvert originates from the French words jour ouvert meaning day break or morning. Originating in Trinidad, this traditional opening of the carnival takes place from 6am on Sunday morning. Revellers parade through the street in old clothes, covering each other in flour, chocolate, mud or paint.
